Outdoor Work

Painting in the open air provides a set of challenges and rewards. The challenges of weather, setting, and other distractions are repaid by the exhilaration of being there, on the spot in the outdoors.

Each oil in this collection was executed outdoors, on the spot. Furthermore, each is a compelling view that made me stop and paint. Changing light and weather mandate quick work, so these were generally completed in a few short hours.
