“Petroglyph Carver”, 2004, scanned image and Adobe Photoshop; Another in my continuing series about Hawaii, it was inspired by a visit to a field of petroglyphs on the South Kohala coast. Like “Journey” it began as a simple line drawing in a small sketchbook. The final image used all the Photoshop skills I had at the time, incorporating layers, filters, electronic brush work, etc. to create my vision of an ancient storyteller who used lava rock as his canvas.
